Sustainability

At Glastry Farm sustainability is the foundation of everything we do. From our lush pastures to your spoon, we’re committed to nurturing the land, our animals and our community.

We are always working on new ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

  • Energy Efficiency: Investing in solar panels contributing up to 50% of energy needs.

  • Genetic Excellence: By focusing on high-genetic-potential animals, our pedigree dairy herd now delivers a rolling average of 861kg per cow in fat and protein — making us one of Northern Ireland’s leading herd for milk quality in 2025.

  •  Naturally Fertilised Fields: Our rich clover swards generate natural atmospheric nitrogen, which fertilises our grassland.

  • Lower Carbon, Higher Standards: Our pedigree dairy herd is producing milk at just 1.23 kg of CO₂ per litre, underscoring our commitment to reducing emissions.

  • Packaging: From wooden spoons in our 120ml tubs to ongoing trials with recyclable and compostable materials, we’re always looking for better, planet-friendly packaging solutions.
